Children in daycare How to Create a Better Day Care

A Business Model Based on the Most Successful
Child Care Center in Northwest Indiana.

Day Care Curriculum

Lesson Plans

The daily schedule does not change, but at ABC Academy, the Lesson Plans do so that a child can get used to routine and continually learn new things. “Create a Better Daycare” will provide you with:

  • Original, detailed daily and weekly lesson plans and schedules broken down by weeks and days - 365 lesson plans to choose from.
  • Follow the schedules to a tee or use our blank daily activities form to create a plan that is customized to your daycare.
  • An overview for the parents so they know what their children are doing on a daily basis.
  • Assessments and Testing information to provide parents with information about areas in which the child excels and other areas where a little extra time working at home can help.

Reports

Daily reports are important so that when the daycare is communicating with the parents, they can be on the same page.

With our program, each child has a cubby and will get a report to take home with them. This holds the child responsible and creates trust between the center and the parents because you are communicating everything and hiding nothing.

Our program also provides you with the forms of the written report, how your teacher and office should deal with different incidents such as fighting and hitting, and the value of installing cameras within your facility.

Ouch Reports
These are for children in each age group, and they help build the parents’ trust and give them peace of mind. In this business, there should be written reports for anything and everything even if no mark was left on the child.

The report is set up to tell the parent when, where, and how the injury occurred. If there was a fault of the teacher or center, you want to know what to say to the parent and have already made the necessary changes to insure that the situation does not happen again.

Oops Notes
From time-to-time, we find it necessary to send an OOPS note to the parent when a child does something that is not acceptable in a school setting. As with any school, the report will make the parent aware of what has happened and, hopefully, will assist a parent to talk about the situation with their child while stressing the importance of doing well in school. This report must be signed by the parent and returned to your center – the same procedure as in the elementary school level.

Incident Report
It is a proven fact that from the ages 0 to 5 everything is a learned response to a child. The main behavioral teaching that your center can provide is the right social skills for every child. By teaching consequences to a child’s actions, both good and bad, you can get the right results from any child.

The Incident Report and the proper use of it will stop the problems from growing out of control. It is the responsibility of the center and the parents to teach and positively impact the children. The parent’s cooperation in dealing with their child’s behavior will be key for your center.

Daily Report Cards
The teachers will provide a report card for the parents. “Create a Better Daycare” provides templates of ABC’s report cards for each class and age group indicating the mood of the child that day, what they ate, what they forgot to bring to school, daily job, how long they slept, manner, ect.

Each classroom’s report card differs slightly. For example, the younger children’s bathroom habits will be provided for the parents. The summer program is also slightly different.

Fun and Games

These are the extras that will set your center apart from the others. Hosting a party or event at your center is a great reason to bring parents, children, and grandparents together. With events and celebrations, you open your doors to the important people in a child’s life, and they will come to see your center as a great place to gather.

  • Outside days, movies
  • Special Events
  • Work to enhance the overall facility and feeling of family and with the program you can have ABC’s examples
  • Holidays: Cinco de Mayo, Winter Party (x-mas etc.), Valentines Day, etc.
  • Grandparents day
  • Father’s Day/Mother’s Day
  • Fundraisers
